Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, House floor, November 20, 2025: Terri McCullough began as an intern in Pelosi’s San Francisco district office “nearly 30 years ago.” Roll Call, March 22, 2019, and the Washington Examiner, March 8, 2019, both put the internship in 1991. UC Santa Cruz’s Institute for Social Transformation Q&A records McCullough’s own account: she wanted to work for a woman elected official, called the office, and started in the district shop.
Politico, March 8, 2019: a one-time Pelosi intern, McCullough was chief of staff in the California Democrat’s personal office from 2003 to 2011. Roll Call: in 2003, when Pelosi was first elected Democratic leader, McCullough came back as an adviser in the outreach office and moved up to chief of staff, staying until 2011. OpenSecrets’ revolving-door file lists the same Pelosi years and a UC Santa Cruz education.
Those are titles and dates. They are not a finding that she ran the House, commanded police, or committed a crime. The later Speaker’s-office chapter is a different post.
