House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, Chairman Barry Loudermilk, released January 6 evacuation video recorded by Alexandra Pelosi. Fox News Digital reviewed the original. As Fox transcribes Pelosi to Chief of Staff Terri McCullough: “We have responsibility, Terri. We did not have any accountability for what was going on there. And we should have.” And: “This is ridiculous. You’re going to ask me in the middle of the thing when they’ve already breached…that, should we call the Capitol Police? I mean the National Guard? Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?” Fox: her aide appeared to reply that Capitol security did believe they were prepared; Pelosi continued, “They clearly didn’t know, and I take responsibility for not having them just prepared for more.”

John Solomon and Steven Richards, Just the News, July 28, 2024, quote McCullough on the same tape: “They thought that they had sufficient…resources.” That is the published McCullough fragment. The Federalist, June 11, 2024; the New York Post, June 10, 2024; and the Washington Times, June 13, 2024, report the Pelosi lines and name McCullough as the addressee. Those are Pelosi’s words, not McCullough’s, except the Just the News resource line.

Pelosi’s spokesperson told Fox the Speaker is not in charge of Capitol complex security and that the clip is cherry-picked. Loudermilk said Pelosi admitted responsibility and that the Select Committee hid the tape. Both statements are on the record. This page does not turn Pelosi’s “I take responsibility” into a McCullough confession, a National Guard order, or a crime.
