I wanted to work for a woman elected official and there weren’t that many in the Bay Area at that time. It was through great fortune that I started interning for Speaker Pelosi at that point. And how did you get that first foot in the door in Nancy Pelosi’s office? Terri: I picked up the phone and I called and called and called. Sometimes that works, at least it used to work back then.
